How many years have you been in the trade? What year apprentice are you? I’ve been in the trade for almost a year, and I’m a first-year apprentice.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I work in commercial HVAC.
What company do you currently work for? I work for Auburn Mechanical.
What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? I’ve had a lot of fun working at building 41 at Microsoft, and I’ve learned a lot there.
Name: Jasmine Moinette
How many years have you been in the trade? What year apprentice are you? 5yrs in the trade: 1yr material handling, 4th yr apprentice
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? Specialty: hospital T.I. work, biopharmaceutical labs, and clean rooms

What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? Evergreen Hospital, Kirkland
Name: Vicky Mangan
How many years have you been in the trade? What year apprentice are you? I’ve been in the trade since 2017, I was a material handler for almost a year and am now a 4th-year apprentice.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I mostly just want to journey out and see where that road takes me.
What company do you currently work for? I currently work for Hermanson, doing T.I. work at the Microsoft Campus.
What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? I really enjoyed working at the airport, putting panels on the International Arrivals Bridge, and being super high up in the air. I really enjoyed being able to capture cool vantage point photos. Plus, it really confirmed my interest in taking flight lessons in the future.
Name: Shelby Pearson
How many years have you been in the trade? What year apprentice are you? I did SMART Heroes at the end of 2019, started work March 2020, and I’m currently a 2nd year apprentice.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I’m doing TI HVAC work right now and I really like it, it’s proven to be a bit of a challenge. Once I get enough experience, I’d like to try detailing.

What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? I’m working for Mac Miller which has been my favorite company so far.
Name: Elizabeth Gladding
How many years have you been in the trade? What year apprentice are you? I’m a 3rd year apprentice.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I can’t really say I have a specialty, but I hope to be continuously learning. I am grateful to those that teach.

What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? My favorite job has always been one with a view, I am lucky to have had a few.
Name: Jaimi Tuss
How many years have you been in the trade? 6-1/2 years
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I specialize in test and balance. Planning to learn more about fire life safety systems testing and become a NEBB certified professional after 10 years in my field.
What company do you currently work for? Airtest Co.
What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? My favorite jobs are the high rises in Seattle. There are always beautiful sunrises and now I’m able to point out other buildings I’ve worked.
Name: Lacey Neubauer
How many years have you been in the trade? I am a journeymen sheet metal worker. I have been in the trades 8 years.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? Would say my specialty is welding but I have been transitioning more into fire life safety and am focusing on fire/smoke damper testing
What company do you currently work for? I currently work for UMC.
What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? My favorite job I have been has been N140 for its fast pace and challenges I faced on the job.
Name: Emily Wigre
How many years have you been in the trade? I have been in the trade 13 years.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? My specialty is that I am very well rounded and can be competitive in the shop, in an architectural setting, HVAC, detailing or teaching.
What company do you currently work for? I currently work for Mac Miller in the detailing department.
What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? I’ve had a lot of favorite jobs. One of the coolest experiences though was to detail the metal wall and soffit panels on the Google building near lake Union, the one where the crane fell. And then actually go install those same panels. In general, I love the high profile and high-rise buildings, mostly architectural.
Name: Diane Broadley
How many years have you been in the trade? I’ve been in the trade since 2013 or nine years.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I passed the Seattle Fire Department certification exam for SC-1 on 12/22/21 and am looking forward to mastering Fire & Life Safety aspects of the trade.
What company do you currently work for? Neudorfer Engineers
What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? Bristol Bay school renovation in Naknek, AK. I learned something new about hydronic systems and was able to visit Katmai National Park and Preserve on my day off.
Name: Katie Bowman
How many years have you been in the trade? I started off as a material handler in 2006, and got into the apprenticeship in 2007, so just shy of 15 years in the union.
What is your specialty and/or what do you dream of doing in the trades one day? I shine operating RTS (Robotic total station) and training new enthusiastic operators. I used to run MacDonald Millers RTS Department making layout files and making sure job sites had the RTS equipment they needed when they needed it. I currently work for McKinstry and hope to lead their RTS department sometime in the future.

What is your favorite job you have been on, or have done since you’ve been working in the sheet metal industry? I’ve had some amazing experiences, One of my favorites was working out on a Weyerhouser project and getting some good hands-on Industrial experience. Their safety culture and McKinstry’s safety culture meshed very well and my time out there molded many of my safety habits to this day.
